Sarah’s Silks

Dress-up play is where Sarah’s Silks began. In 1994, founder Sarah dyed a square of silk for her son’s costumes, and the family-run company now makes playsilks, capes, skirts, and wooden toys, with its silks hand dyed and hemmed in China.

Kids who love dress-up, fort building, and open-ended pretend play are a natural fit, as are families drawn to Waldorf-style toys. Most product listings we checked give ages 3+ or ranges such as 3–8 and 3–12.

A few things to settle first: the size and silk weight in each listing, since playsilks come in several sizes, and the age guidance for each item. Large wooden toys carry a restocking fee if they’re returned.

What ages are Sarah’s Silks toys for?

Mostly 3 and up. Sarah’s Silks points buyers to each product listing for the age recommendation, and most listings we checked state ages 3+ or a range starting at 3. The company says its toys, materials, and dyes have passed safety testing for children.

What is the Sarah’s Silks return policy?

You had 30 days when we checked in October 2026. Returns were started in your account portal and had to be sent back in original condition with tags. Large wooden toys had a 10% restocking fee, and seconds, gift cards, and warehouse sale items couldn’t be returned.

Does Sarah’s Silks offer free shipping?

Yes, on US orders over $150, when we checked in October 2026. Orders usually ship 3–5 business days after they’re placed, and Playframes and Wavee boards are excluded from free shipping to Alaska and Hawaii.

Can I buy Sarah’s Silks on Amazon?

Yes. The brand says its most popular items are on Amazon and suggests buying through the Sarah’s Silks shop there.
