Yoto

Kids slot a physical card into a Yoto player and it plays a story, a song, or a podcast, with no screen involved. The lineup includes the Yoto Player and the portable Yoto Mini, and the card library has Disney, Bluey, and Harry Potter titles.

That makes it a good fit for listening time without a screen, from bedtime stories to long car trips. Yoto says its players are for kids aged 3 and up, and it sorts cards into age bands from 0–2 to 9+.

We’d weigh the player price ($79.99–$149.99 on the US store when we checked) against how many cards you expect to add. Decide whether you want the optional Yoto Club membership, and keep in mind that opened cards can’t be returned. Yoto is also sold at Target.

What age are Yoto players for?

Ages 3 and up, according to Yoto. It also recommends that only adults handle the charger and that the charger be kept out of children’s reach.

What is Yoto’s return window?

60 days from purchase, when we checked in October 2026, for players, cards, and accessories bought on yotoplay.com. Cards and card packs had to be unopened, and orders placed from October 1 to December 31 could be returned until January 31 if that came later.

Does Yoto offer free shipping in the US?

Yes, on players and on orders over $40, according to the Yoto US site when we checked in October 2026.

Was there a recall on the Yoto Mini?

Yes. Yoto says Yoto Minis made between 2021 and 2023 had a battery that could overheat while charging, and it offers owners a free Battery Replacement Kit, one per device. Keep this in mind if you’re buying a used Mini.
