Step2

Backyard afternoons with a water table, a sandbox, a playhouse, or a climber are where Step2 tends to show up. The company designs and rotationally molds its plastic products at two plants in northern Ohio, and it also makes mailboxes, planters, and pool furniture.

Toddlers and preschoolers with room to play outside get the most from it. Most kids’ items we checked on Step2’s site are graded 1.5+, 2+, or 3+ years, and its climbers and swing sets are approved for backyard residential use.

Worth a look before you order: the age grade, box size, and assembly instructions on the product page. Large items can ship by truck with curbside delivery, and Step2.com doesn’t take online orders for Hawaii or Alaska.

What warranty does Step2 offer?

Three years from purchase in most cases. Step2 warrants its products to the original purchaser against defects in materials or workmanship, with proof of purchase, though some categories differ, such as 90 days for pretend play wood kitchens.

How do returns work on Step2.com?

Only with prior authorization, when we checked in October 2026. FedEx-shipped items could come back within 14 days of receipt if new, unassembled, and in original packaging, while truck shipments had a 7-day window. Step2 doesn’t take returns of items bought from other retailers.

How are large Step2 items delivered?

By LTL truck, with curbside delivery. The trucking company calls to schedule a time, and Step2 says to allow 5–14 business days after shipment. It doesn’t ship to PO boxes or APO/FPO addresses.

Can Step2 climbers go in a daycare or school?

No. Step2 says its climbers and swing sets are approved for backyard residential use only and don’t meet public playground or childcare standards. It also advises against setting them up over hard surfaces such as concrete or packed earth.
