Our verdict

Slamwich is a small-box card game from Gamewright for 2 to 6 players, ages 6 and up, with rounds of about 20 minutes. The deck is 55 cards of bread and fillings. Players take turns flipping cards onto a center pile and slap it when they spot a Slamwich (the same filling between two slices of bread) or a Double Decker (the same card twice in a row); the first hand down wins the pile. Thief and Muncher cards add a twist. Gamewright says the game builds visual discrimination and sequencing, and lists awards from Parents' Choice, Games Magazine and the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio. The Ceaco store, which sells Gamewright games, had it at $14.99 on October 7, 2026.

We could not find owner reviews to read: neither the Gamewright page nor the Ceaco store shows ratings, and BoardGameGeek pages were behind a bot check when we checked. What we can say from the maker is that it is a speed game, so a quick hand counts for as much as a sharp eye, and the box is 4.75 x 5.75 x 1.5 inches, small enough for a bag or a car trip.

It suits early readers and their families who want a short game that needs no reading at all. Skip it if slapping games cause arguments in your house, or if your kids already find Snap-style games too easy, since the rules are simple by design.
