Our verdict

The Adventurer is the Lovevery Play Kit for months 16, 17 and 18. It holds a side-by-side Race & Chase Ramp, a Pull Puzzle, a Wooden Stacking Pegboard, a Fuzzy Bug Shrub with stick-on critters, snap-together Copy Me Cups, a threadable bead kit with a bag, a board book about getting hurt, and a Play Guide. Subscribers pay $132 per kit, shipped every three months; a single kit without a subscription was $156.

Lovevery shows a 4.9 rating from more than 22,000 reviews on the page, but that count appears to cover the Play Kits as a group, so we could not read reviews for this kit alone. The brand's help center says kits cost $132 from age 1, can be canceled from Account Settings at least 3 days before the next ship date, and can be returned within 30 days.

It suits parents who want a planned rotation of toys matched to age, with guidance on how to use them. Skip it if you prefer to pick toys one at a time, or if the cost of a subscription every three months is more than you want to commit.
