Our verdict

The Spirograph Deluxe Set is made by PlayMonster for ages 8 and up, with an MSRP of $29.99. It has 19 precision wheels, 2 rings, a rack, reusable Spirograph putty, 3 fine-line pens, 20 sheets of design paper, a 14-page guide and a carry case with snap-in storage and a built-in drawing surface.

The putty holds the pieces on the paper so kids can draw without pinning holes through it, and the gears work with most standard pens and pencils. PlayMonster’s page has no owner reviews, so we have no owner feedback to report here.

It suits an 8- to 14-year-old who enjoys precise, repeat patterns, and adults often join in. Skip it for a child who gets frustrated when a gear slips; it takes a steady hand.
