Czech Games Edition Galaxy Trucker CGE00061

Galaxy Trucker is a two-part game from Czech Games Edition, relaunched in 2021: first all players grab tiles from a shared pile at the same time and race to build a spaceship, then the ships fly through adventure cards where meteors, pirates and smugglers knock pieces off. CGE rates it for ages 8 and up, 2 to 4 players and about 30 minutes, and the box holds 156 ship components, 60 adventure cards, 42 astronaut figures, aliens, batteries, goods blocks, 2 dice and a sand timer. CGE's US store listed it at $39.99 and in stock on October 7, 2026.

On BoardGameGeek the second edition has 7,164 ratings averaging 7.41 out of 10, with a weight of 2.26 out of 5, heavier than most family games. Owners in the comments we read agree that the building race is the fun part and that kids love it; one parent says a 6-and-a-half-year-old handles the first level. The criticism is about the second half: several call the flight phase tedious or hard to explain, and one says setup and cleanup with all the tiles take a while.

It suits families with children around 8 to 12 who enjoy fast, noisy games and do not mind ships falling apart. Skip it if anyone at your table hates timed play, or if you want a game you can set up and pack away in a couple of minutes.
