What we like and what to keep in mind
What we like
- Hood and roof are printed; only 14 stickers in all
- Pairs of forks stand in for BMW's kidney grilles
- Driver's shirt matches the car's pattern and race number
Keep in mind
- Brickset's reviewer says the body shape misses the real M3
- The new wheels look little like the real car's wheels
- Engine detail sits under a hood that does not open
How we reviewed it
What owners say.
- 1 positive
- 1 negative
Paraphrased from public owner reviews. Each one links to where it was posted.
Brickset's reviewer enjoys the inventive construction, from forks used as the grilles to a chassis built on a trapdoor frame plate, and is impressed that the printed stripes line up neatly across the roof and rear.
The same reviewer says it is fun to build but, as a model of the E30, gets the shape wrong: the gentle curves are lost at this scale and the new wheels hardly resemble the real car's.
