Our verdict

Five Crowns is a rummy-style card game from PlayMonster for 1 to 7 players aged 8 and up, with an MSRP of $13.99. The 116-card deck has five suits (spades, clubs, hearts, diamonds and stars), and the hand size and wild card grow each round: three cards with 3s wild, then four cards with 4s wild, up to the round where kings are wild.

Players race to arrange their hand into books and runs and go out first. PlayMonster’s page has no owner reviews, so we have no owner feedback to report here.

It suits families with kids 8 and up who already like rummy or similar card games. Skip it if your kids are still learning to hold a big hand of cards; later rounds deal 13 cards.
