Our verdict

Hape’s Pandas’ Bamboo House is a three-level play house for ages 3 and up, made from FSC-certified wood and bamboo plus a plant-based plastic Hape calls Green PE. It comes with four panda figures that can sit, stand, and hold things, and a long list of play pieces: two hammocks, a bed, a sofa, a kitchen table and stove, an elevator basket on a string, a suspension bridge, a rope ladder, and a slide.

The house is about 23 inches wide and 24 inches tall and weighs about 15.5 pounds, so it needs floor or table space. Hape says an adult needs to assemble it, and Hape UK lists 25 parts. Pretend solar panels on the roof go with the eco theme.

At $164.99 it’s a larger gift. We couldn’t find owner reviews outside Amazon, so this review rests on Hape’s product pages. Hape’s UK page also warns about the long cord, so keep the elevator string in mind if younger siblings play nearby.
