Our verdict

DX Classic Class 21 is a larger, $27.99 Classic Class kit of Optimus Prime with the Jet Wing pack from Dark of the Moon. Blokees lists 163 pieces, a height of about 5.28 inches, LED eyes and chest with batteries included, a swap head, and seven weapons, including dual swords, a shield, an axe, gun pods, barrage cannons and the ion blaster. Blokees' FAQ estimates 2 to 4 hours to build, longer than the other Classic Class kits here.

We read 38 owner reviews on Blokees' store; 31 give five stars and 4 give three or fewer. Owners like the number of weapons and say it stands steady even with the wing pack. The complaints are about fragile joints: several owners report snapped knees or legs, cracked swords, and one grandparent says Blokees declined a refund after both legs broke during assembly because the box had been opened.

It suits live-action movie fans 14 and up who want the most loaded Optimus at this size. Skip it for a younger or heavy-handed builder, given the joint reports.

Loved the design and the many weapons, but found it fragile; one wrong twist snapped a joint, so they suggest displaying it carefully.

Negative
A grandparent's gift: both legs broke while their experienced grandson assembled it, and Blokees declined a refund because the product had been opened.
