Blokees Classic Class vs Champion Class vs Action Edition: Which Line to Collect

How Blokees' three main snap-fit kit lines compare on price, size, piece count, build time, licenses and shelf space, with picks for six kinds of collector.

  • Ages 12+
  • $17.99–$49.99
  • Researched

Pick the line by the shelf you have and the characters you love. Classic Class is Blokees’ $19.99, roughly 5-inch line of Transformers movie robots. Champion Class sits in the same $17.99 to $27.99 band but stretches across Star Wars, DC, Marvel and more. Action Edition doubles the price to $39.99 and gives you a 7-inch kit with two to four times the parts.

All three snap together without glue or paint. Prices below are Blokees’ list prices when we checked in October 2026, and every kit named links to our researched review.

What are Classic Class, Champion Class and Action Edition?

Blokees Classic Class 17 Soundwave from Transformers One, front

Classic Class 17 Soundwave: 85 pieces, about 4.92 inches tall, $19.99.

Blokees is the kit brand of Bloks Group, a Chinese toymaker that Zhu Weisong founded in 2014. A Bloomberg report carried by Gulf News says the company started with brick toys before moving into licensed character kits such as Transformers, and that its January 2025 Hong Kong listing raised $215 million.

The three lines are size tiers. Geek Culture’s guide to the Blokees lines says Classic Class sprues are “in a similar scale to Bandai’s HG Gundam line,” and calls Action Edition “Blokees’ counterpart to Bandai’s MG line, except with a much more accessible building experience.” It groups Classic and Champion Class together as kits for “the average model kit newcomer.”

Here is where it gets confusing. TFWiki’s Blokees page says Champion Class is the name for characters from other franchises. Yet Blokees now sells two Bumblebee-movie kits as Transformers Champion Class 26 and 27, numbered right after Classic Class 25 Blitzwing. In practice:

  • Classic Class is the Transformers film line: 2007, Dark of the Moon, Transformers One and Bumblebee.
  • Champion Class is the same size tier for Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Mega Man, Naruto and Saint Seiya, plus the newest Transformers numbers.
  • Action Edition is the large tier for Transformers and Evangelion. TFWiki notes some sellers call it Legend Edition, and Blokees uses that name for some Evangelion and Naruto kits.

ToyNoble covers 106 Blokees products, and you can see them all in every Blokees kit we cover. Blokees also sells blind-box lines (Galaxy, Shining, Defender) that are smaller and random; this guide sticks to the three named-box lines.

Bottom line: Classic and Champion Class are one size class with different licenses. Action Edition is the step up.

How do the three lines compare side by side?

This table uses the ranges across the kits ToyNoble reviews: 14 Classic Class, 30 Champion Class and 11 Action Edition kits. Heights and joint counts are Blokees’ figures.

The price-per-piece row is our own division of list price by Blokees’ piece count, so treat it as a rough guide. More parts don’t always mean more fun, but they do mean more joints, more armor layers and a longer evening.

What does the same character look like in each line?

Optimus Prime is the cleanest test, because Blokees sells him in all three tiers.

Kit Line Price Pieces Height What stands out
Classic Class 11 Optimus Prime (Transformers One) Classic Class $19.99 79 About 5 in Light-up eyes and chest, 2 stands
Champion Class 26 Optimus Prime (Bumblebee) Champion Class $19.99 118 About 5.30 in Inner frame, 20 joints, light-up eyes
Action Edition 04 Optimus Prime / Orion Pax Action Edition $39.99 272 Not listed by Blokees 72 points, 2 armor sets, magnetic lights
Action Edition 01 G1 Optimus Prime Action Edition $39.99 188 About 7.09 in Removable Matrix, toy-color option parts

Classic Class 11 and Action Edition 04 are the same Transformers One character at half and full price. Our review notes that owners of the Action Edition call it much bigger and more involved than the Classic Class kits, with more hands and faces. The Blokees Action Edition 04 page lists two outer armor sets, so you can display him as Orion Pax or as Optimus with the Matrix.

Champion Class 26 is the in-between buy. It costs the same as Classic Class but has 39 more parts than Classic Class 11 and an inner frame. Two owners in our review data found it smaller than they expected, so check the 5.30-inch height against your other figures.

How long does each build take, and how hard is it?

Blokees Action Edition 05 Tarn with twin fusion cannons

Action Edition 05 Tarn: 333 pieces and about 7.80 inches, the tallest kit in the line.

Time is the biggest practical difference. The Blokees Starscream page puts Classic Class 16 at 30 to 60 minutes, and the FAQ for DX Classic Class 21 Jet Wing Optimus Prime says 2 to 4 hours. One owner of Classic Class 23 Bumblebee says the build took about an hour.

Champion Class lands in the same range for most kits. An owner of Champion Class 01 Shooting Star Mega Man reports an hour or two. Bigger Champion kits like Rocket Raccoon (208 pieces) and Venom (185) take longer, mostly because of tentacles, effect parts and extra hands.

Action Edition is a project. A parent reviewing Action Edition 04 says it took their son almost eight hours, with no parts missing. Tformers’ coverage of Action Edition 01 shows how much is in the box: a jet pack, laser cannon, Energon axe, avatar figure and stand.

You don’t need tools for any of the three. Owners still mention two habits that save parts:

  • Push every peg all the way in. An Action Edition 05 owner had a hip peg snap after it didn’t seat fully by hand.
  • Keep a file or sanding stick nearby for leftover nubs, which an Action Edition 04 owner suggests.

If you’re new to kits, our comparison of Blokees, Bandai and Yolopark AMK explains how Blokees difficulty sits against Gunpla grades.

Which licenses does each line cover?

Blokees Champion Class Jeff the Land Shark with effect parts

Champion Class 12 Jeff the Land Shark, the lowest-priced Champion kit at $17.99.

The character you want often decides the line for you. A Star Wars or Marvel fan can’t get those characters in Classic Class or Action Edition at all.

A few picks show the spread inside Champion Class:

Notice the heights. Champion Class human figures mostly run taller than Classic Class robots, roughly 5.3 to 6.7 inches against 4.4 to 5.3. They look fine on one shelf, but a Clone Trooper will stand above a Classic Class Bumblebee.

How much shelf space and money does a collection take?

Say you want six figures. Here is what that costs and needs, using list prices and Blokees’ box and height figures.

Six-kit shelf Cost Shelf width (about 6 in per kit) Shelf height needed
Six Classic Class Transformers One kits $119.94 About 36 in About 7 in with stand
Six $19.99 Champion Class kits $119.94 About 36 in About 8 to 9 in
Six Action Edition kits $239.94 About 48 in or more About 10 in or more

The width and height columns are our planning estimates, not Blokees measurements: about 6 inches per small kit for arms and weapons, more for Action Edition poses and bases. Classic Class Transformers One gives you a full cast for $120: Starscream, Soundwave, Shockwave, Sentinel Prime, Megatron and Optimus all list at $19.99.

Action Edition kits also take more box space if you keep the packaging. Blokees lists the boxes at 9.84 x 5.91 x 12.60 inches, against 3.54 inches deep for the small lines.

In a Reddit comparison of Classic Class and Yolopark AMK Mini figures, a collector in the Philippines found the Blokees head sculpts sharper and liked that the light-up kits come with batteries. The same post notes the DX Optimus cost noticeably more than the standard Megatron there, which matches the $27.99 vs $19.99 gap in the US.

What do owners complain about in each line?

Blokees DX Classic Class 21 Jet Wing Optimus Prime with wings spread

DX Classic Class 21 Jet Wing Optimus Prime: 163 pieces and seven weapons for $27.99.

We read the owner reviews on Blokees’ store for each kit we cover. The complaints differ by line, and they’re useful because most of these reviews are positive.

Classic Class. The small joints are the weak point.

Several owners of DX Classic Class 21 Jet Wing Optimus Prime report snapped knees or legs. On Classic Class 11, one owner says the head only swivels and can’t look up or down. A Classic Class 17 owner had an arm break off.

Champion Class. Tentacles and tiny pegs cause trouble. Of 23 owner reviews for Champion Class 07 Venom, 12 mention a peg or joint snapping, most often at a tentacle. The Clone Trooper’s owners say the base is small for wide action poses.

Action Edition. Tight tolerances and heavy parts come up most.

Several owners of Action Edition 06 Optimus Prime (Transformers: Prime) say the arms pop off while posing unless pushed in firmly. Action Edition 05 Tarn owners call it harder to pose than others in the line. On Action Edition 03 Soundwave, several owners report a missing, broken or misprinted part.

All of these reviews sit on Blokees’ own store, so we treat them as owner reports, not a defect rate. If a part arrives broken or missing, contact the seller you bought from before you start gluing.

Are these kits for kids, teens or adults?

Blokees prints the age on every box, and it changed over time. Classic Class kits numbered 09 to 18 say 12+; Classic Class 20 onward, all Champion Class and all Action Edition kits say 14+. Blokees’ product pages for these lines carry this warning: “WARNING! Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.”

The CPSC’s fact sheet on the Child Safety Protection Act explains that small-parts labels are required on toys for children 3 to under 6, which is why even teen kits carry an under-3 warning. The 12+ and 14+ numbers are Blokees’ own guidance for the build, not a legal limit. Several lights use small battery modules, and Blokees’ Classic Class 09 page advises keeping loose batteries away from young children.

For a 12- or 13-year-old, the 12+ Classic Class kits like Classic Class 09 Optimus Prime match the box. For a younger child who loves Transformers, follow the age on the box and look at Blokees’ 8+ and 9+ lines instead.

Which Blokees line should you collect?

Use this quick decision path, then read the profile that fits.

  1. Is the character only in one line? Buy that line.
  2. Do you want many characters on one shelf? Classic or Champion Class.
  3. Do you want one centerpiece and a long build? Action Edition.
  4. Is the builder 12 or 13? Stick to the 12+ Classic Class kits.

A first Blokees kit for a 12- or 13-year-old

Classic Class 16 Starscream ($19.99, 87 pieces) has a 30 to 60 minute build, light-up eyes and a bonus Megatron vehicle. It’s rated 12+ on the box.

A Star Wars, DC or Marvel fan

Champion Class is the only choice. Start at $19.99 with the Clone Trooper or Nightwing, and save the $27.99 kits with more effect parts for later.

A G1 cartoon fan who wants a centerpiece

Action Edition 01 G1 Optimus Prime ($39.99, 188 pieces) has the fewest parts of the large Optimus kits. Our review notes one owner, a Master Grade Gunpla builder, said everything fit without nippers or sanding.

A movie collector building a full cast

Classic Class covers whole film casts at $19.99 each. The Dark of the Moon trio (Classic Class 23 Bumblebee, Megatron and Sentinel Prime) costs $59.97, and Champion Class 27 Bumblebee is sized to stand with Champion Class 26 Optimus.

An Evangelion fan

Action Edition is where the Eva units are. Evangelion Action Edition Production Model-02 is $39.99 and about 6.69 inches, with a launch platform and ruined building.

A collector with one small shelf

Champion Class gives you the most posing per inch. Classic Class gives you the most characters per dollar. Action Edition makes sense only if you plan to show two or three kits rather than ten.

Bottom line: Collect Classic Class for Transformers films at $20 a figure, Champion Class for every other license, and Action Edition when you’d rather own three big Transformers than nine small ones. We keep our snap-fit kit reviews updated as Blokees adds new numbers.

Three Optimus Prime editions to compare before buying

These three kits show why the character name alone is not enough. Classic Class 11 follows Transformers One, Champion Class 26 follows the Bumblebee film, and Action Edition 04 offers Optimus Prime and Orion Pax armor configurations. Pick the screen design the collector recognizes before paying for a larger box.

Classic Class 11 is the simpler commitment at 79 pieces and carries a 12+ label in our researched listing. Champion Class 26 has 118 pieces, an inner frame and a 14+ label. Action Edition 04 has 272 pieces and a 14+ label. Piece count helps compare the amount of assembly; it does not measure fit quality or guarantee a better posing experience.

Choose the smaller kit for a first character build or a compact collection. Choose Action Edition 04 when changing the armor and working through a larger assembly are part of the appeal. Compare the owner reports and the recipient's shelf space as well as the number of joints.

FAQs

What is the difference between Blokees Classic Class and Champion Class?

They are the same size and price tier with different licenses. Classic Class is Blokees’ Transformers film line, while Champion Class covers Star Wars, DC, Marvel, Mega Man, Naruto, Saint Seiya and the newest Transformers numbers.

Classic Class kits list at $19.99 with 71 to 107 pieces and about 20 joints, and most stand 4.4 to 5.3 inches. Champion Class runs $17.99 to $27.99 with 71 to 208 pieces, and its human figures often stand taller, up to about 6.7 inches, with more points of articulation. TFWiki says Champion Class is meant for characters from other franchises, but Blokees now sells Transformers Champion Class 26 and 27 numbered after Classic Class 25.

If you only want Transformers, compare the specific kits rather than the line names.

Is Blokees Action Edition worth it over Classic Class?

It is if you want a large centerpiece and a long build. Action Edition costs twice as much but gives you two to four times the parts and about 2 more inches of height.

Action Edition 04 has 272 pieces and 72 points of articulation for $39.99, while the same character in Classic Class 11 has 79 pieces for $19.99. Owners of the Action Edition say it is much bigger and more involved, with more hands and faces. The trade-offs are shelf space, a build of several hours, and tight tolerances that some owners report on newer kits.

Buy one Action Edition first and see whether you enjoy the longer build before planning a full shelf of them.

How tall are Blokees Champion Class figures?

Most Champion Class kits ToyNoble covers stand about 5.3 to 6.1 inches, with a range from about 4.1 to 6.7 inches. Blokees lists the height on most product pages.

Champion Class 27 Bumblebee is the shortest at about 4.10 inches, because he is sized to match Champion Class 26 Optimus Prime at 5.30 inches. Human characters run taller: Darth Vader and Anakin are about 6.06 inches, Nightwing about 5.9, and Shooting Star Mega Man about 6.69. Classic Class robots mostly stand 4.4 to 5.3 inches, so mixed shelves look uneven.

Check the height on each kit’s page before you pair figures from different lines.

Do Blokees kits need tools or glue?

No. Blokees designs Classic Class, Champion Class and Action Edition as snap-fit kits that need no glue, paint or cutters.

Parts come pre-colored, so there is nothing to paint, and owners report finishing small kits in about an hour. Some owners still keep a file or sanding stick nearby for small nubs, and one Action Edition owner had a peg snap after it didn’t seat fully. A Master Grade Gunpla builder who reviewed Action Edition 01 said everything fit without nippers or sanding.

Have a clear table and a small dish for parts, and push each peg in fully before moving on.

How long does it take to build a Blokees kit?

Classic Class kits take about 30 to 60 minutes, Champion Class about one to two hours, and Action Edition several hours. These come from Blokees’ FAQs and owner reviews.

Blokees’ FAQ gives 30 to 60 minutes for Classic Class 16 Starscream and 2 to 4 hours for the 163-piece DX Classic Class 21. A Champion Class Mega Man owner reports an hour or two. For Action Edition, one parent says the 272-piece Action Edition 04 took their son almost eight hours. Kits with tentacles, wings or many swap hands sit at the long end of each range.

Plan an Action Edition build across two evenings so you don’t rush the small joints.

What age are Blokees Classic Class and Action Edition kits for?

Blokees rates Classic Class kits numbered 09 to 18 at 12+, and newer Classic Class, all Champion Class and all Action Edition kits at 14+.

The ages are Blokees’ guidance for building and handling, printed on each box and product page. The product pages also list a small-parts warning for children under 3, which the CPSC requires on toys with small parts for young children. Some kits include light modules with batteries, and Blokees advises keeping loose batteries away from young children. A 12+ label means a 12-year-old builder, not a younger sibling watching.

Follow the age on the box, and supervise a younger builder if you choose to build together.

Which Blokees line has the most articulation?

Action Edition has the most joints overall, from 45 to 72 points on the Transformers kits. A few Champion Class kits beat it with accessories.

Action Edition 04 Optimus Prime lists 72 points, Action Edition 05 Tarn 64 and Action Edition 03 Soundwave 58. Classic Class kits list about 20 joints. Champion Class varies the most: Marvel Rivals Peni Parker lists 77 points, Rocket Raccoon 51 (up to 68 with accessories) and Venom up to 90 counting tentacles.

If posing matters more than size, read the joint count on each kit rather than assuming the bigger line wins. Blokees lists the count on most product pages.

Should I collect one Blokees line or mix them?

Most collectors do better picking one size tier per shelf. Classic and Champion Class mix fairly well; Action Edition stands 2 or more inches taller.

A six-figure Classic Class shelf costs $119.94 and needs roughly 36 inches of width by our estimate, while six Action Editions cost $239.94 and need more width and height. Mixing lines on one shelf can make the small kits look like background figures, which some collectors like for scale and others don’t.

Decide your shelf size first, then choose the line that fills it the way you want. You can always add one Action Edition later as a centerpiece above a row of small kits.
