Our verdict

The AMK PRO G1 Optimus Prime is Yolopark's higher-end take on the Autobot leader: 20 cm tall, pre-assembled, with die-cast metal armor parts, weathered battle-damage paint and 35 points of articulation. The eyes light up in three modes with a magnetic switch (batteries not included), the chest opens to a removable Matrix of Leadership, and it comes with an ion blaster, a pistol and an Energon base and stand. Yolopark's US store listed it at $49.99 and recommends it for ages 15 and up.

Owner reviews on Yolopark's store average well, with 21 of 32 at five stars. Owners praise the G1 look, the weight from the die-cast and the light-up head. The repeated problem is fingers: several owners had fingers arrive loose or snap off, and one could not get a replacement. Another found it tricky to stand, and one had a missing leg part that Yolopark replaced quickly.

It suits an adult collector who wants a solid cartoon-style Prime for display. Skip it if it will be handled often, or if you want a transforming figure.

Negative
A fun build with good quality and minimal paint chipping, but three fingers snapped off after about a week and the store policy meant no replacement.
