Your First Blokees Kit: A Beginner's Buying Guide
Start with a character you love in a $17.99 to $19.99 kit. Every Blokees line compared, plus six first-kit picks with specs and what owners say.

You have seen the photos. A palm-sized Optimus Prime with glowing eyes, a Venom with tentacles curling off a desk, a row of tiny Decepticons on a shelf. Then you open Blokees' store and find Classic Class, Champion Class, Action Edition, Galaxy Version, Defender Version and Wheels, and every one of them says "Optimus Prime" somewhere.
The short answer: start with a character you already love, in a $17.99 to $19.99 single kit. For most people that means Classic Class 11 Optimus Prime or Marvel Rivals Spider-Man. Both are under 90 pieces, light enough to finish in an evening, and cheap enough that a learning-curve mistake does not hurt. Move up to a $39.99 Action Edition once you know you enjoy the build.
Three questions that pick your first kit
1. Who do you want on the shelf?
This matters more than any spec. A kit of a character you shrug at will sit in its box. Blokees covers Transformers, Marvel Rivals, DC, Star Wars, Hatsune Miku and more, so start from the name you would actually point at.
2. One figure, or a surprise?
Classic Class, Champion Class and Action Edition boxes contain one named figure. You know exactly who you are getting. Galaxy Version and Defender Version are blind boxes: each box holds one random kit from a wave, and you only know who it is when you open it. Great fun if you enjoy that. Frustrating if you only want Optimus.
3. An evening, or a weekend?
A Classic Class kit is 79 to 163 pieces. An Action Edition is 272 to 364. Owners report anything from about half an hour for Spider-Man to almost eight hours for Action Edition 04. If this is your first kit, pick the shorter build and enjoy finishing it.
Every Blokees line on one page
| Line | What you get | Price on Blokees US | Pieces | Size | Age label | First-kit fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic Class | One named Transformers figure | $19.99 ($27.99 for DX) | 79 to 163 | About 5 in | 12+ or 14+ | Easiest starting point |
| Champion Class | One named figure: Marvel, DC, Star Wars, Transformers | $17.99 to $27.99 | 71 to 208 | About 4.6 to 6.1 in | 14+ | Great if your character is here |
| Action Edition | One large Transformers figure, lights, many accessories | $39.99 | 272 to 364 | Up to about 7.9 in | 14+ | Second kit, not first |
| Galaxy Version | One random small kit per box, or a whole set | $8.99 a box | Small | Small | 10+ | Cheap taste of the hobby |
| Defender Version | Whole set of 12 random mini kits | $35.88 a set | Mini kits | About 2.2 in | 8+ | Good for younger fans |
| Wheels | A 1:64 vehicle kit that stays a vehicle | $12.99 | About 78 | Die-cast car size | 9+ | For truck fans, not robots |
Prices from Blokees' US store and our review pages, checked October 14, 2026. Champion Class covers several franchises, so the series link above goes to the Marvel Rivals line as an example. None of these kits transform between robot and vehicle.
Two things surprise first-time buyers. They do not transform. These are snap-fit display models: a robot stays a robot, a truck stays a truck. No tools are needed. Parts are pre-colored and snap together, so you do not need glue, paint or cutters. A small file or nail buffer for leftover nubs is a nice extra, not a requirement.
Our six first-kit picks
Each pick below has its key specs, what owners report and who should skip it, so you can decide without leaving the page.
Classic Class 11 Optimus Prime: the easy yes

If you are not sure where to start, start here. It is the Transformers One Optimus, about 5 inches tall, with a glowing blue energon axe and light-up eyes and chest. At 79 pieces it is the smallest robot build Blokees makes in this line, and owners call it easy and good for building with kids.
Two display stands come in the box, which is generous for $19.99. Finish it in an evening and you will know whether this hobby is for you.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $19.99 |
| Pieces | 79 |
| Height | About 5 in |
| Lights | Eyes and chest |
| In the box | Weapons, swap hands, 2 display stands |
| Age label | 12+ |
What owners say: We read 19 owner reviews; 14 give five stars and the rest give four. Owners call it movie-accurate and easy to build. One notes the head swivels but cannot look up or down.
Skip it if: you want dramatic head-tilt poses, or a bigger build with more parts to swap.

Marvel Rivals Spider-Man: the quickest first build

Not a Transformers fan? This is the Marvel entry point. Red-and-blue suit, web gauntlets, a web effect and three sets of hands, in 83 pre-painted pieces. One owner finished it in 20 to 30 minutes.
With 42 points of articulation he can crouch low on a monitor stand, which is exactly where most of these end up.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $19.99 |
| Pieces | 83 |
| Height | About 5.79 in |
| Articulation | 42 points |
| In the box | Web gauntlets, web effect, 3 sets of hands |
| Age label | 14+ |
What owners say: Reviews are more mixed than most Blokees kits. Many owners love the look and posing range. Others report arms or legs that pop off easily, a tight ab joint and a few missing or broken parts.
Skip it if: it is for rough play. Also check the name: Spider-Man Chasm CC25 is a different suit.

Jeff the Land Shark: the cheapest smile

Jeff is $17.99, 71 pieces and has the happiest owners of any Marvel Rivals kit we cover. His head spins all the way around, his jaw opens, and two water effects come in the box.
He is small, about 4.6 inches, which makes him a perfect desk buddy and a low-risk gift for someone whose favorite character you do not know.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $17.99 |
| Pieces | 71 |
| Height | About 4.60 in |
| Articulation | 24 points |
| In the box | 2 effect parts, 4 swap parts |
| Age label | 14+ |
What owners say: We read 26 owner reviews, averaging 4.7 out of 5. Most call it cute, quick and easy. The few low scores are about shipping costs and crushed boxes, not the kit.
Skip it if: you want a tall figure, or a long, involved build.

Galaxy Version 01: try the blind box for $8.99

Curious about the blind-box side of Blokees? One Galaxy Version box costs $8.99 and holds one random G1 Transformer from a nine-bot lineup, from Optimus and Megatron to Jazz and Skywarp. Each box adds a stand and a collector card.
It is the cheapest way to see how Blokees parts feel. Just know you might get a repeat if you buy several single boxes. Buying the whole set of nine avoids that.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $8.99 a box, $80.90 for the whole set of 9 |
| Format | One random kit per box |
| Lineup | 9 G1 characters, plus a chase at 1 in 36 |
| In each box | Kit, weapon or hand part, stand, card |
| Age label | 10+ |
What owners say: We read 55 owner reviews: 45 give five stars, 9 give four and 1 gives three. Owners like the G1 looks and the short build. Complaints are about the format, mainly repeats from single boxes.
Skip it if: repeat figures would upset you, or you need one specific character.

Wheels CT01: for younger fans who love the truck

At $12.99 and labeled 9+, this is the youngest-friendly Blokees kit here. It is Optimus in his classic semi-truck form with a trailer that opens into a repair bay, at die-cast car scale.
It never becomes a robot. For a kid who loves trucks, that is a feature.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $12.99 |
| Pieces | 78 |
| Scale | 1:64 |
| In the box | Truck, trailer, Roller, smokestacks |
| Age label | 9+ |
What owners say: We read 14 owner reviews; 13 give five stars. Owners like the price, the opening cab and the trailer. The one low review is about a crushed box.
Skip it if: the fan wants a robot mode.

Your second kit: Action Edition 06

Loved your first build? This is where Blokees gets serious. 328 pieces, a Star Saber, arm cannons and magnetic lights in the chest and eyes, at $39.99.
We do not recommend it as a first kit. The fit is tight and the build is long. As a second kit, after you have learned how Blokees joints press together, it is a big, satisfying step up.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Price | $39.99 |
| Pieces | 328 |
| Lights | Magnetic LEDs in chest and eyes |
| In the box | Arm cannons, Star Saber, alternate faces and hands, stand |
| Age label | 14+ |
What owners say: We read 137 owner reviews; 106 give five stars and 12 give three or fewer. Fans love the show accuracy. Several say the arms pop off while posing unless the joints are pushed firmly home.
Skip it if: the builder dislikes very tight part fit, or this would be their very first kit.

Before you check out
Check the exact name. "Optimus Prime" appears in at least eight different Blokees kits. Match the line, the number and the film or show: Classic Class 11 is Transformers One, Action Edition 06 is Transformers: Prime. Our Optimus Prime comparison lines them all up.
Single box or whole set? On blind-box lines, a "single box" is one random kit. A "whole set" is the full wave. Defender Version 01 is sold only as a whole set on Blokees' US store. Our blind box guide explains the odds.
Open and count on arrival. A few owners report missing parts. Blokees takes defect part requests within a limited window after delivery, so check the bags early.
