Pretend play

Simple pretend play, like feeding a doll or stirring a pot, often starts in the second year, and the stories grow longer through the preschool years. Use the Age filter to match sets to your child’s stage.

It varies a lot by model. Check the assembled dimensions on the retailer’s page, and note that larger wooden kitchens often need adult assembly.

Many playsets include small food, dishes, or figure accessories and carry a choking warning for children under 3. If younger siblings share the play space, read the maker’s age and safety guidance before choosing.
